Pear Bread
3 1/2 Cup Flour
1 tsp. Baking Powder
1/2 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Ground Ginger
1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
1/2 tsp. Ground Nutmeg
1 1/2 Cups Sugar
1/2 Cup Vegetable Oil
1/2 Cup Margarine
4 Eggs
2 tsp. Vanilla
2 Cups Pears, peeled and diced
1/2 Cup Walnuts, optional
In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, ginger, baking soda and nutmeg. In another bowl, beat sugar, oil and butter. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each egg. Stir in vanilla. Stir into dry ingredients until moistened. Stir in pears. Pour into two greased loaf pans. Bake at 350F for 55 to 65 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans. Serve warm with butter.
